1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms govern your use of CaseLock at caselock.us, operated by POC-IT under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. By creating an account, uploading documents, or using any feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What CaseLock Is — and What It Is Not
CaseLock is an AI-powered evidence-organization and case-preparation tool. It helps you organize documents, analyze contracts and ledgers, build structured case prep packets, and optionally connect with attorneys through the Attorney Marketplace.
CaseLock is NOT a law firm. POC-IT is a technology company. CaseLock does not practice law, provide legal advice, represent any user, prepare or file court documents, or recommend any legal strategy.
No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of CaseLock — not by uploading documents, chatting with the AI, generating case packets, or connecting with an attorney through the Marketplace. An attorney-client relationship can only be formed by a separate written engagement agreement with a licensed attorney. Communications within CaseLock are not privileged attorney-client communications.
3. Artificial Intelligence Limitations
CaseLock uses AI to analyze and organize materials you provide. All outputs — summaries, analyses, case packets, chat responses — are organizational and informational tools only. They are NOT legal conclusions, legal opinions, or legal advice.
AI can be wrong. It may misinterpret contract language, miscalculate figures, omit key facts, or fail to account for jurisdiction-specific rules. You are responsible for independently verifying every output. CaseLock outputs must not be used as the sole basis for any legal action, filing, or decision. Always consult a licensed attorney before acting.
4. Your Account and Responsibilities
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for the accuracy of all documents you upload. You agree not to treat any CaseLock output as legal advice, and not to use any output as the sole basis for any legal decision. You are responsible for maintaining your own copies of all records — CaseLock is not your sole record-keeping system.
5. Permitted and Prohibited Uses
CaseLock is licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree NOT to use CaseLock to commit or facilitate fraud, fabricate or alter evidence, harass or intimidate anyone, manufacture false legal claims, violate any law, infringe intellectual property rights, reverse engineer the Service, interfere with or disrupt the Service, or scrape or extract data.
6. Your Data
You own your Case Data. We store it to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You may request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@caselock.us.
7. Attorney Marketplace
The Marketplace is a referral and connection service only. CaseLock does not endorse or guarantee any attorney. CaseLock is not responsible for attorney conduct, advice, or services. By default, attorneys see only the attorney summary you generate — not your full case chat or documents — unless you explicitly grant expanded access.
8. Fees and Payment
Certain features require payment, processed by Stripe. POC-IT does not store your card number. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
9. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." POC-IT disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI outputs, and uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of Liability
POC-IT's total liability for any and all claims shall not exceed the total amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. For free users, liability is capped at $50. POC-IT is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or emotional distress.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify POC-IT against claims arising from your User Content (including fabricated or fraudulent uploads), your violation of these Terms, or your use of CaseLock outputs in any legal proceeding.
12. Termination
You may terminate your account by contacting legal@caselock.us. POC-IT may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason.
13. Dispute Resolution
Governing law: Commonwealth of Virginia. Disputes resolved by binding individual arbitration under AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules in Virginia. Class action waiver — you and POC-IT may only bring individual claims. Small claims court exception. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing legal@caselock.us.
14. Updates
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated 30 days in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
